WikiTrust: Wikipedia to use color codes to showcase reliability of content
Wired has reported that Wikipedia is all set to offer an optional new feature named WikiTrust.
WikiTrust would use color codes to showcase the reliability of the content on any Wikipedia page.
The color codes would be based on various factors including:
How trustworthy is the author of the particular content
How long has the content survived on the Wiki page
And so on.
The aim is to highlight the portions of a webpage which can be deemed more reliable compared to others.
The concept is simple… The longer a particular text content has survived on the Wiki, the more reliable it has to be. Author reliability would be based on the lifespan of past contributions.
It is an interesting concept which is also going to weed out the spammy content on the service by the experts.
