Google takes Google News out of Beta
Yet another of the Google’s multitude of services is now out of beta testing. Google has announced that Google News is finally out of beta after nearly 4 years of testing. However, the service has been so popular on the net that they do not have to market it much to get more users to start using it.
The company also added some new features to this service as they aim to take on Yahoo! News and other news syndication services available on the net. They already offer email based news alerts in addition to RSS syndication services. In addition, now the regular users of Google News services would be recommended stories based on earlier read stories on the service.
Users would also be able to view and manage their history of news searches and the articles read online. In addition, the company would also be highlighting the popular news stories at that particular moment on the service’s various sections. All these features would help the user make the most out of this syndication service, which picks up content from thousands of news sources available on the net from around the world.
