Oracle acquisition of Sun Microsystems approved by Justice Department
Database industry giant Oracle has said that their acquisition of Sun Microsystems has now received the approval from the Justice Department in the USA.
They are now waiting for approval by the European Commission.
The acquisition deal has been facing issues because of the involvement of technologies like Java and MySQL.
MySQL is an open source database technology which has been practically a rival product for Oracle’s own range of database solutions.
