Warner Music Group collaborates with Cisco Systems

Warner Music Group has announced that they are now collaborating with the networking industry giant Cisco Systems.

Cisco would now provide software solutions to Warner to power their online services.

Warner Music Group said that they would now become the first major music label to use Cisco’s Eos social media software platform.

Cisco had announced this platform earlier this year.

Warner aims to use this platform to power the websites of their signed artists on the web.

Edgar Bronfman, chief executive officer of Warner Music said: “We clearly see the entertainment industry in a phase of tremendous transition.”

Cisco boss John Chambers added: “When you look back five years from now, you’ll see that what Warner Music is doing will change the industry, and others will follow in its footsteps.”

This is a thinly veiled attempt by a major record company to squeeze even more money out of the public. Consumers will see right through this.
