RealNetworks barred from offering RealDVD software
RealNetworks has lost another crucial round against their battle against the movie studios.
The company cannot offer their RealDVD software which made it easier for consumers to make copies of DVDs on their computers.
The movie studios have been claiming that this product violates the laws which protect their copyrighted digital material.
Real has been claiming that they have put in enough preventive measures to ensure that no piracy takes place.
U.S. District Judge Marilyn Patel said in the ruling that the software circumvents a technological measure that effectively controls access to or copying of the studios’ copyrighted content on DVDs.
