Facebook acquires FriendFeed!
TechCrunch has just reported that the leading social networking service Facebook has acquired FriendFeed.
Not much detail is available at the moment. But this is huge news.
Facebook had tried acquiring Twitter in the past but the offer was apparently rejected.
FriendFeed is pretty similar to Twitter and also uses it as one of the source of real time data. So, we guess they went for the next best thing.
It remains to be seen what Facebook has planned for FriendFeed if this news is indeed accurate. They have already borrowed a lot of ideas from this service.
It could become the next major thing in the real time web services market!
