Windows XP Mode Release Candidate for Windows 7 out
Microsoft has now made available the release candidate version of their Windows XP Mode for Windows 7 operating system.
This product can now be used on Windows 7 RC and RTM releases.
Windows XP Mode for Windows 7 is designed to allow Win 7 users to run legacy applications which do not work on the primary operating system in a Windows XP shell.
This would prevent any backward compatibility problems faced by users who want to move from Windows XP to Windows 7 when it is released in October this year.
Microsoft representative Brandon LeBlanc spoke about this product: “Windows XP Mode provides what we like to call that ‘last mile’ compatibility technology for those cases when a Windows XP productivity application isn’t compatible with Windows 7. Users can run and launch Windows XP productivity applications in Windows XP Mode directly from a Windows 7 desktop.”
