Google showing ‘view as HTML’ option for Microsoft Excel files in search results
Google has further enhanced Google Docs functionality in their search results.
They have already been showing a ‘view as HTML’ option for Adobe PDF files.
They are now showing a similar option for Microsoft Excel spreadsheets.
So, the user no longer requires having a compatible application installed on his machine to view the spreadsheets.
Google would open the files right inside the web browser for quick access.
This feature works on all Excel file results on the web so the conversion is done on the fly.
