Gmail can now send emails using third party servers!
Google already allows you to send emails through Gmail from an alternative email id of yours.
You just need to connect your other email ids in Gmail to activate that functionality.
One problem with this mechanism is that the emails sent from alternative email ids are delivered with ‘on behalf of’ message in the headers.
Software like Microsoft Outlook highlights this aspect which can cause embarrassing situations.
Google is now providing an alternative. If you want, Gmail can now send emails from your other email Ids by using the SMTP servers of that service itself.
You would have to configure the settings in the backend to enable this feature. This method would then send the emails from the secondary email id using the third party server.
