Microsoft releases a security patch for Internet Explorer
Microsoft as expected has released an emergency patch for their Internet Explorer web browser.
The patch has been released outside their regular schedule. The company usually releases their patch updates on the second Tuesday of the month.
Microsoft had stated that this update was critical and they could not wait for the next Patch Tuesday release.
This patch fixes as many as three privately reported vulnerabilities in Internet Explorer.
The software giant said in a statement: “These vulnerabilities could allow remote code execution if a user views a specially crafted Web page using Internet Explorer. When a user views the Web page, the vulnerability could allow remote code execution. An attacker who successfully exploited this vulnerability could gain the same user rights as the logged-on user. If a user is logged on with administrative user rights, an attacker who successfully exploited this vulnerability could take complete control of an affected system.”
