Microsoft contributes to Linux code
Microsoft has surprised industry experts by announcing their decision to donate some code to Linux.
This code is however designed to improve connectivity between Windows and Linux operating systems so it’s going to benefit them in the end as well.
Microsoft said that the code provided includes three Linux device drivers which have been submitted for inclusion in the Linux tree.
These drivers are designed to improve the performance of the Linux operating system when virtualized on Windows Server 2008 Hyper-V or Windows Server 2008 R2 Hyper-V.
