Adobe provides insecure version of Acrobat Reader by default!

Secunia has reported that Adobe has been offering an insecure outdated version of Acrobat Reader from their website.

When the user installs the Acrobat Reader from Adobe.com, the version installed is an old one which has several vulnerabilities.

Adobe has issued a couple of updates for this version. These updates are only delivered at a later stage if the user is connected to the internet.

If the user cancels the Adobe Updater, his installation remains an unpatched one.

The problem here is that Adobe could just provide an up to date version of Acrobat Reader direct from their website but they are not doing that for now.
