If you have been interested in checking out what Google Android is all about without buying any of the smartphones that are coming powered with it, here is a great solution.
Google Code has a project named live-android which provides you with a Live CD of Google Android.
No installation is necessary as the mobile platform boots directly from the CD itself.
It is a safe way to check out Android without installing anything on your machine.
It also supports virtual operations through any of virtualization application like VirtualBox, VMWare or Microsoft Virtual PC.
