Google Voice Search on SMS launched in India
Google has launched their SMS based voice search service in the Indian market.
The company said that this service was developed entirely by their Indian team.
The service currently only works on Blackberry devices so it is limited to around 4 lakh Blackberry users in India.
Google is working on expanding the availability of this service to other mobile devices in the coming months.
Google admitted that the varied accent of Indian mobile users is a major problem to tackle even when it comes to the English language.
Vinay Goel, head of products, Google India said: “Accents are indeed a problem, and we are working towards improving the application.”
