Google Chrome testing a new tab page
Google launched Chrome with a new tab page which looked similar to the Opera Speed Dial.
They are now playing with this feature by providing alternative views to the new tab page.
It is available in the latest dev channel release version but beta testers would have to enable it manually by running Chrome browser with the command line switch –new-new-tab-page.
The new tab page features eight popular site boxes. Users get to pin their favourite pages so they do not disappear from this section.
They can also hide the thumbnails if they want to. Plus this view also adds a new box named Tips and Suggestions.

chrome has a long way to go to reach the new tab functionality available on Firefox, at least with the newtabking add-on. These guys really revolutionized the new tab window experience.
