Microsoft Office Live beta to appear any day now

Reports coming in from the media sources claim that Microsoft is now expected to launch the first beta of their Microsoft Office Live services in the coming days. This will not exactly be providing the customers an alternative to the company’s popular MS Office suite, but would act as an extension to it.

The software industry giant first revealed their plans to launch the Office Live services in November last year and the first beta is expected to be unveiled in the coming days. Microsoft is also expected to reveal more on their upcoming Windows Live strategies. They had originally claimed that the beta should be released in the public in the early months of January.

Reports also claim that the company sent private invitations to some beta testers to conduct the initial Office Live testing. The first beta is expected to be limited to the US based users of Windows XP and Office 2000 or later versions of Microsoft’s desktop operating system and Office suite.

Microsoft is targeting this service to those customers who want an online resource center to host online business applications, e-mail and more. This would enable them to have a centralized service center for their corporate information. Web based services has caught on pretty fast in the United States and other markets and Microsoft wants to be a frontrunner in this market.
