Google Gmail, Calendar, Docs and Talk are now out of beta!
Google has finally done the unthinkable. They have decided to remove the beta label from a lot of their services.
So from today, a lot of popular services are out of Beta. The services which are now out of beta are:
Google Mail – Gmail
Google Calendar
Google Docs
Google Talk – Gtalk
There is little changed in most of these applications except for the logo which now has beta text removed from them.
Google spoke about this decision:
Gmail, Google Calendar, Google Docs and Google Talk — both enterprise and consumer versions — are now out of beta. “Beta” will be removed from the product logos today, but we’ll continue to innovate and improve upon the applications whether or not there’s a small “beta” beneath the logo. Indeed, today we’re also announcing some other Google Apps features that we think will appeal to large enterprises: mail delegation, mail retention and ongoing enhancements to Apps reliability.
You can still retain the beta label on the Gmail logo by selecting the Google Labs feature ‘Back to beta’:
Checkout: Google Apps is out of beta (yes, really)
