Google launches two more Google Mini versions
Internet search engine giants Google have announced that they are launching two more variants of their Google Mini search appliance. These two new variants would offer more capabilities than the existing Google Mini appliance. The search engine company aims to tap the growing demand for such hardware solutions for corporations wanting to implement on their local intranets and servers.
These Google Mini appliances are targeted at small to mid-sized companies. The USD 5995 version of Google Mini has capabilities of searching 200,000 internal documents. The more expensive version (USD 8995) is capable of indexing 300,000 documents and files on a local intranet.
Corporate entities love these solutions considering it is hard for them to develop similar solutions in-house. And Google is already world renowned for their search engine capabilities. They already had an existing Google Mini version, which sells for USD 2995 and has capabilities of searching 100,000 documents.
Google claims that they have sold these hardware and software combo packages to more than 2000 organizations worldwide. For companies with very high capability requirement, Google offers Google Search Appliance, which starts at around $30,000.
