Melody: Open Source Fork of Movable Type
A couple of developers specializing in Movable Type have announced the formation of a new group named The Open Melody Software Group.
They are now working on a new open source content management platform named Melody.
The group has Anil Dash on its board who is the VP and Chief Evangelist of Six Apart.
The basic aim of this group is to accelerate the development of the open source components of the MT system.
They are working with Six Apart in a way which is the company behind the MT platform.
They are aiming to make the project as successful as existing OSS projects like WordPress, Apache, Linux and Firefox.
WordPress is of course a competitor of Movable Type in the corporate blogging market.
