BeeJive supports push notification on Apple iPhone

BeeJive has now become one of the first instant messaging applications on the Apple iPhone to support push notifications.

iPhone users can now receive their instant messages just like they receive sms messages. Even when the application is not active.

There are some initial bugs however but the developers said that it is most likely from Apple’s side which has just launched support for push technology on the iPhone platform.

Kai Yu, developer of BeeJive said: “Apple push is not a guaranteed delivery, so a failure to deliver to the phone does not necessarily mean it’s going to queue up the messages and try again. This may change down the road but right now it’s a best effort attempt.”

There are also reports that push technology is likely to work better on the newly launched iPhone 3GS model compared to the previous versions.

BeeJive supports all the popular instant messaging protocols including AIM, Google Talk, Facebook IM and ICQ. It goes for sale for USD 16.
