Palm releases webOS source code!
Palm has finally gone ahead and released the source code of their webOS mobile platform which powers the Pre smartphone.
This was necessary for them to comply with the GPL licensing.
Palm has also launched an own open source section on their own website to help developers get hold of the code.
Palm has used the version 2.6.24 of the Linux kernel in the latest webOS update. The company of course needed to add a lot of their code for the device drivers.
