I cannot connect with Y! messenger.

I still get the error “myuserofY!@yahoo.com has disconnected. Server has closed the session”

I’m running (libpurple 2.5.8) and I change the things you said but nothing works for me.

I’m the only one or Y! has made it again.

66.163.181.170 and other addresses (most of them that I’ve tried out) in the previously mentioned list do not work anymore.

Any idea how to fix this at least temporarily until the new Pidgin becomes available?

Just head on to http://pidgin.im and download the latest version to get this fixed.

No longer have to mess around with the hosts file.

changing to 66.163.181.167 page server working for me.
ubuntu 9.04 pidgin 2.5.6.

Added “66.163.181.170 scs.msg.yahoo.com” to my hosts file, and then disabled “Autodetect IP address,” setting 66.163.181.170 as Public IP. Works like a charm!

Thanks for the info– I’ve been using Yahoo’s webmessenger for the last two days, which, ugh.

James’s fix above worked perfectly for me, at least for right now.

66.163.181.170 adding into pidgin replacing scs.yahoo.com will work too. Tested and working on windows xp.
