Oracle Corporation to expand operations in India
One of the world’s largest software company Oracle Corporation has revealed their plans to expand their operations in the Indian market. The company has now revealed plans to hire 1,400 people in India and they are aiming to increase their development center locations to nine more cities in India. A senior company executive revealed these plans.
The company already has a pretty impressive base in the Indian market where they employ around 8,600 employees. Oracle also has their bases established in six cities. The aim now is to quickly expand on this employee base by hiring additional staff. However, Oracle declined to reveal plans on what kind of development centers they are looking for establishing here in the Indian market.
Oracle already has their research and development centers located in the IT centers of India, Bangalore, and Hyderabad. Derek Williams, the company’s executive vice president for Asia-Pacific said in a statement about their plans: “We will grow from 8,600 employees to over 10,000 employees over the next eight months.†He was addressing the media at a conference in Mumbai.
Oracle has already invested more than USD 2 billion in their Indian operations and this investment is expected to go even higher considering these new plans of the company.
