OpenDNS is now serving 14 billion requests daily!

David Ulevitch has updated the OpenDNS blog with exciting news.

The popular DNS service is now catering to as many as 14 billion requests daily.

They touched the milestone for the first time ever on June 17.

Ulevitch said in his blog post:

I remember when we did 100 million requests total in a single month and how awesome *that* was. Today we’re handling over 200,000 requests per second at peak load. Simply awesome.

The company is now working on bringing up a new location in Amsterdam. They are also planning to establish a base in Asia for the OpenDNS users in this part of the world.

OpenDNS currently has servers in:

Seattle
Palo Alto
New York
Washington, DC
