Apple Safari 4 has failed to boost its market share

Web analytic companies have revealed the updated data which shows that Apple could not boost Safari’s market share with the launch of the Safari 4 web browser.

Microsoft however made a small gain with their latest edition of Internet Explorer.

Net Applications reported that Safari’s market share in the June 7-13 period was around 8.36%. This is slightly down from its share in the month of May.

Apple had claimed that more than 11 million copies of Safari 4 were downloaded in the first three days of the release of this edition.

Internet Explorer had a market share of 66.55% in this period which is a slight improvement from its market share last month.

Google Chrome also improved its market share from May’s 1.8% to 1.93%.

Mozilla Firefox was the loser in the period. Its market share was down to 21.4% for the week from May’s 22.51%.
