Opera promised to the world that they would reinvent the web today.

The company launched their new service named Opera Unite.

Well, it is not really revolutionary but it is still rather awesome.

Opera Browser is more than just a web browser. It handles a lot more stuff like IRC, Mail, Newsgroups, Bittorrent, and RSS.

Now they have added a web server to the web browser itself.

In simple terms, if you are running Opera, you get tons of new capabilities.

You can share files, music, and photos right from your computer. You do not need to install any other service. There is no configuration required. You just enable a service and share a folder. You can also host your own chat room!

You also get the ability to run a website right from your computer. These are just the services Opera has provided for now.

They are inviting developers to add more services and features to further expand the usability of Opera Unite.

Your friends do not require running Opera to access these features. They can use any modern web browser to access the shared content. It’s just that simple.
