Google working on Twitter search service?

Google has already admitted that services like Twitter have become very useful in today’s scenarios.

Twitter is used by web users around the world to post small content bits. And it has turned into a great new source to see what is popular on the web at any given moment.

Twitter has also been said to be the first online outlet where breaking news is published. Incidents like Mumbai bomb blasts were covered widely on this service.

Industry sources claim that Google is now working on a specialized search service that would index content from services like Twitter.

This search engine would sort results by relevance and is likely to integrate content from their regular search engine to give more relevant results to the web user.

Google already has a blog search engine which can become an integral part of this new search service from Google.

Google search products Chief Marissa Mayer recent hinted about such a service: “we are interested in being able to offer, for example, micro-blogging and micro-messaging in our search. Particularly in Blog Search and possibly in Web Search, but we don’t have any particular plans to announce”.

Twitter of course has its own search engine service that sorts the results as per the post time. This alone makes it a bit complicated to use as you might end up with too many tweets being posted at that given time.
