Google Quick Search Box comes to Apple Mac
If you find Quicksilver a bit complicated for your taste, Google has made available their own similar product named Google Quick Search Box.
Google Quick Search Box is not as powerful as Quicksilver as it is designed primarily to be used as a search tool.
However, it features support for plug-ins which can broaden its usage capabilities.
The default installation enables the user to search using this tool from anywhere. Google Quick Search Box can be called upon through a keyboard shortcut (just like Quicksilver). User types in a keyword and the box displays results.
Results shown includes the applications installed on the Mac in addition to local files which matches the keywords. In addition, it also show results from web search, suggestions, browser history and contacts.
Once the user reaches the result option he likes, he can press the TAB button to perform more activities on that.
A Twitter plug-in is already available which enables you to Tweet from the box itself.
