Facebook Usernames coming up in 2 days!

Social networking giant Facebook has announced that they are going to let their members get a username of their choice for usage on the service.

They would make this option available in 2 days time. For India, it starts at 9:31 am on June 13th.

And the user’s names would be provided on a first come first serve basis of course.

So, if your name is rather common, you would have to set up your alarm to get it while you can.

Facebook spoke about this decision:

We’re planning to offer Facebook usernames to make it easier for people to find and connect with you. When your friends, family members or co-workers visit your profile or Pages on Facebook, they will be able to enter your username as part of the URL in their browser. This way people will have an easy-to-remember way to find you. We expect to offer even more ways to use your Facebook username in the future.
