Acer could launch Android Netbook later this year
Acer has revealed that they are working on launching an Android powered netbook later this year.
Google Android was designed for use on mobile devices. However, developers have managed to get it working on netbooks as well.
Android could further lower the prices of the netbook models available in the market as the operating system would be free.
Android would also not require high performance processors so that would save the costs as well.
Jim Wong, Acer’s global president for IT products has been quoted as saying: “Today’s netbooks are not close to perfection at all. In two years, it will all be very different. If we do not continue to change our mobile Internet devices, consumers may not choose then anymore.”
