Larry Ellison wants Java to be everywhere!
Oracle is in the process of acquiring Sun Microsystems.
This would give them the ownership of Java technology which is already pretty popular on the web and mobile devices.
Oracle boss Larry Ellison has now said that they have big plans with the Java language.
They want to see it being used widely on netbooks and other consumer devices.
Ellison said: “You’ll see us get very aggressive with Java, and developing Java apps for things like telephones and netbooks. There will be computers that are fundamentally based on Java.”
It remains to be seen if Java can regain the status it once had. Things have changed massively in the recent years.
