MySpace to focus on innovations for growth

MySpace was once the leading social networking service on the web.

Facebook was much smaller a couple of years ago.

But things have changed massively and Facebook now dominates the social networking scene on the web.

MySpace however is not sitting idle. The company now plans to focus on innovations to grow in this market.

MySpace boss Owen Van Natta spoke about their plans for the future: “When I look at MySpace there’s just so much opportunity to build. I took the job because there’s a lot more that can be done around innovation.”

He admitted that MySpace’s reputation on the web is not very good. He said: “Certainly we’re not the darling of the press right now, I think that’s pretty clear.”

Natta was previously with Facebook and it remains to be seen if he can get MySpace to overcome the challenge posed by his former company.
