Java bug revealed as Apple delays fix for Mac OS X
Apple has been criticized for being slow with updates related to Java on Mac OS X platform.
As a result, a security researcher has made public the attack code that exploits the flaw.
Sun Microsystems has already updated the Java releases for other platforms.
Landon Fuller who revealed the code spoke about his decision: “Unfortunately, it seems that many Mac OS X security issues are ignored if the severity of the issue is not adequately demonstrated. Due to the fact that an exploit for this issue is available in the wild, and the vulnerability has been public knowledge for six months, I have decided to release my own proof of concept.”
The code revealed by him is harmless but it does reveal the flaw in the system which can be exploited by hackers to target Apple Mac users.
