Amazon Kindle for Apple iPhone updated

Amazon has released an updated version of their Kindle mobile application for the Apple iPhone and iPod Touch.

This application is available as a free download from the Apple App Store.

It enables the users to access their eBooks purchased from the Amazon Kindle store.

Amazon also recently launched a mobile optimized version of their Kindle web store. This enables the user to purchase eBooks from their mobile devices directly.

Users get some new features in this updated version of Kindle eBook mobile application.

They can now read the text content in both portrait and landscape mode.

Users can also lock their preferred view so that the orientation is not changed if the phone’s position is changed.

Users also get the ability to change the background and text colours to make it easier for the eyes to read the content on the smaller screen of the iPhone.

Users can now turn pages by tapping on the screen. Zooming in and out is also now supported.

Most of these features are borrowed from the Stanza mobile app which was recently acquired by the company.
