Apple blocks Drivetrain from Apple App Store
Apple is in news again for blocking a harmless mobile application from the Apple App Store.
This latest application to be blocked is Drivetrain which enables the user to control Transmission Bittorrent application from an iPhone or iPod Touch.
The reason behind this block is pretty ridiculous. Apple stated that these kinds of applications are often used for the purpose of infringing third party rights.
This is pretty strange as the application is not used for downloading files on the iPhone itself. It just controlled an application running on a computer. Mac OS X does not block installation of Bittorrent clients!
Also, Bittorrent is not used only for downloading and sharing pirated media. Linux developers use it for distribution their distributions to lessen the load on their servers.
