Microsoft Virtual Earth now with Photosynth technology

Microsoft has announced that they have now integrated Photosynth technology with their Virtual Earth web service.

This new feature addition would enable businesses to provide virtual tours of their operations online.

Microsoft spoke about this new feature addition: “The integration of Photosynth into Virtual Earth marks an important step in enabling businesses to use Photosynth in a relevant, customer-friendly way. Our Virtual Earth partners have great tools for creating, sharing, viewing and embedding synths across multiple platforms, and building engaging experiences.”

NASA and VisitBrighton are already offering such virtual tours through the service using the combination of these services.

NASA Ames Research Center director Pete Worden had this to say: “This stunning collection of photographs using Microsoft Photosynth … technology provides people around the world with an exciting new way to explore the International Space Station. This collaboration with Microsoft offers the public the opportunity to participate in future exploration using this innovative technology.”
