Apple requires all new apps to be compatible with iPhone 3.0

Sources say that Apple now require all new applications submitted to the Apple App Store to be compatible with the upcoming iPhone 3.0 update.

Apple has apparently mailed the developers that they would now test all the new submissions with the latest beta of iPhone 3.0.

And any application that does not pass the test would be rejected.

Apple is also suggesting that the developers should test all their existing applications with the latest beta of iPhone 3.0 to prevent any issues at a later stage.

The company stated that after the launch of iPhone 3.0 any incompatible application would be removed from the Apple App Store.
