Gmail down. Complaints all over Twitter…

Google Gmail webmail service is down for us at this very moment. It has been down since the last 30 minutes or so.

We are not alone. We know that thanks to Twitter.

Twitter is full of messages posted by Gmail users in the last couple of minutes about how Google has gone into a lunch break with its Gmail service.

Gmail is not working through the web. It is also not responding through IMAP and POP for us.

Incidentally, some users can get through to their Google Apps account based Gmail.

It should be back up running we are sure. But downtimes like these are going to cause a lot of criticism for Google. No matter Gmail is in beta or not.

The error had an option to see the detailed technical info about the problem being faced by the service. It says:

Numeric Code: 66

Whoa. That is very well explained! :P

Update: It seems to be back online now.
