Twitter Search to index content from links posted by users
Twitter has announced that they are going to further improve the searching capabilities of their search engine.
Twitter Search currently only indexes the content posted in real time by its users.
They are now planning to integrate technologies that would index the content on links posted by users on the Twitter network.
This would further improve the search quality of Twitter Search especially in cases of events happening in real time.
Santosh Jayaram who is now the Twitter’s new VP of Operations was previously with Google and it is a clear indication that the company wants to do much more than what they are already offering us.
Twitter Search would not be challenging Google but it could just become much more useful to anyone who is looking for real time updates happening around the world.
