Google promotes Chrome in Gmail
Google is now promoting their Google Chrome web browser through their Gmail webmail service.
Users on other browsers are reportedly seeing alerts stating that Gmail runs faster in Google Chrome.
They are then invited to try out this alternate web browser by Google.
Google had launched the Chrome web browser last year. The launch was pretty successful as it made tons of news. But the browser failed to generate much excitement in the recent months with its market share remaining pretty low.
On technology sites however, it is reaching a decent market share of 5-10% (like TechWhack).
It remains to be seen if Chrome can challenge Firefox or Internet Explorer in the coming years.
