Microsoft Vine announced
Microsoft has announced a new social networking application that is currently in private beta testing.
This new product is called Microsoft Vine and it enables the users to send and receive alerts to and from their contacts.
This product also displays up-to-date status information on a dashboard. The tool would work on both computers and mobile devices.
Microsoft spoke about this new product: “Microsoft Vine aims to create an inclusive network so that ultimately anyone can participate through a social networking application such as Twitter or Facebook or using e-mail, any computer connected to the Internet or a mobile phone, kitchen phone or a special needs device.”
It is interesting to see Microsoft using third party services like Twitter for this tool.
The application also collects data from around 20,000 news outlets for public safety announcements.
