Heroku launches its own cloud service for Ruby
Heroku is all set to take on Google by offering its own cloud service for Ruby applications.
This service would be somewhat similar to Google App Engine which also provides provisionless Web hosting.
Heroku is using the infrastructure provided by Amazon Web Services for their platform.
The company said that their service would provide automated management and scaling.
Heroku added: “It provides single-step deployment of Web applications in a way that just works, without configuration.”
They have been beta testing their platform for some time now and they already have received 25,000 applications.
Users would be required to pay for what they use.
