Google adds mobile support, auto responder, and group mailing to Gmail
It seems like the Google is working extra hard on implementing new features to their Gmail web mail service. The search engine company calls them the holiday goodies and they are coming in loads. Google recently added an antivirus engine to the mailing service and users can now also get previews of certain kind of mail attachments.
The latest feature additions to Gmail are some of the most demanded ones. Gmail can now be accessed from mobile phones as the company added small screen device support. Google optimizes the mail interface to suit the small screen of these devices and also enables the users to call the people who are on their contact lists from inside the interface of the Gmail service.
In addition, another long demanded wish list item has been fulfilled with the addition of contact groups. Users can now make groups in their contact lists to use them to send mails to multiple people using a single shortcut name. Creating a new group is as easy as adding a new contact and the group names are also available from the dropdown boxes on To/CC/BCC fields in compose mode.

Another new feature addition is the availability of auto-responder to Gmail users. This enables the users to inform the people sending them mails that they are on vacation and won’t be able to reply to their mails for the time being.
