StumbleUpon sold back to founders by eBay

US based online auction industry giant eBay has now sold their service StumbleUpon back to the founders of the company.

eBay had acquired StumbleUpon around two years ago for $75 million.

Apparently, they failed to gain much from this service and decided to get rid of it.

The company said that they simply could not find long-term, strategic synergies between the units.

StumbleUpon founders Garrett Camp and Geoff Smith are now the new owners of the company again.

They acquired the unit with some help from a group of investors, including Accel Partners and August Capital.

No financial details were given out.

Incidentally, Skype founders are also said to be trying to acquire back the company from eBay.
