University of Utah: Latest victim of Conficker
University of Utah has confirmed that Conficker has spread on their network and they are working on fixing the problem.
The virus is said to have infected around 700 machines on the university campus.
University health sciences spokesman Chris Nelson stated that no personal information has been compromised by this attack.
Nelson spoke about the personal data of patients: “That’s secured in a much deeper way because of the implications.”
Network administrators worked throughout the weekend to clean up the mess on the network.
Thankfully, Apple Mac and Linux based machines are safe from this malware.
