The Toronto, Ontario, Canada had been working on this product for many years now. They vowed the online audience by showcasing a demo of their product sometime back.
BumpTop is an interesting desktop shell which provides a 3D view of your desktop.

They are providing a free limited feature edition in addition to a pro version that costs USD 29.
