Microsoft PowerPoint suffers from a zero-day vulnerability
US based software giant Microsoft has reported that their PowerPoint application suffers from a zero-day vulnerability.
Microsoft has now warned users that they should not open unknown or unexpected PowerPoint e-mail attachments.
The company claims that the attack using this method is currently limited.
The following products are affected:
Microsoft Office PowerPoint 2000 Service Pack 3
Microsoft Office PowerPoint 2002 Service Pack 3
Microsoft Office PowerPoint 2003 Service Pack 3
Microsoft Office 2004 for Mac
Thankfully, the latest version of PowerPoint for Windows and Apple Mac are safe.
They are suggesting that users of the affected products switch to XML format presentations rather than the binary format presentations.
