TechCrunch is back with another hard to believe story.
The popular technology blog is claiming that the search engine giant Google is in talks with Twitter for a possible acquisition deal.
The report said that the talks are in pretty advanced stages.
Twitter is one of the most talked about web services today. It allows web users to post short notes online.
It has become a powerful tool to stay up to date on local as well as international news.
Searching twitter has also become one of the most talked about talking online. Searches on Twitter can be used to get up to date information on any possible topic online.
Google could be interested in this phenomenal information source.
Incidentally, Google owned Jaiku which was once a potential rival to Twitter service.
Google could use Twitter technology to provide a hugely useful and relevant up to date search service!
That is right... But Google did reveal that it is not being developed officially any more. More like a discarded service brand.
'Jaiku is a part of Google. The service is maintained by volunteer Google engineers on their spare time.'

LikeGoogle still does own Jaiku, rather than "owned". But it's done nothing visible with the service since it bought it.
