Blackberry App World launched

Research in Motion has launched their own mobile applications store named Blackberry App World.

This would now become the primary destination for mobile applications designed for the Blackberry smartphone platform.

This store is of course inspired by the Apple App Store which works with Apple iPhone and iPod Touch devices.

RIM said that the store has on offer around 1000 applications at launch time.

They are going to allow mobile service providers to set up their own sections on this store and generate revenues through them.

Mobile service providers would also be able to allow the customers to pay for applications through their bill rather than online on the store.
