Conficker could strike again on April 1
Security industry companies are warning that the Conficker worm could strike again on April 1.
The latest variant of the Conficker worm is all set to start its damage from April.
Symantec Security Response however admitted: “It doesn’t mean we’re going to see some large cyber event on April 1.”
Still, a large number of computers online are said to be infected with this worm and they can become victims in the coming days.
Paul Ferguson, an advanced-threats researcher for Trend Micro had this to say: “They don’t want to bring down the infrastructure. That would not allow them to continue carrying out their scams.”
So, a large number of victims probably would not even recognize that they are infected with the worm.
